Unleashed
Formed in Stockholm in 1989, Unleashed's longevity has made them one of Sweden's
death metal stalwarts. Comprising bassist and vocalist Johnny Hedlund,
guitarists Fredrik Lindgren and Tomas Måsgard, and drummer Anders Schultz, the
band signed with German label Century Media on the strength of a demo tape, and
in 1991 released their debut album Where No Life Dwells, on which the recurring
themes of Nordic culture were already apparent in their lyrics. Driven by
powerful, melodic death metal, subsequent albums Shadows in the Deep (1992),
Across the Open Sea (1993) and Victory (1995...
