After rising to prominence as member of the K-pop girl band Wonder Girls the
South Korean singing star Sunmi took the unusual step of temporarily leaving the
pop business in order to complete her university studies. After a three-year
absence from the music scene she successfully relaunched her career in 2013,
this time as a solo artist. Her debut single '24 Hours' reached the top three in
the Asian charts and was soon followed up by the similarly successful EP 'Full
Moon', the two releases collectively selling more than 1,500,000 units.
