The country rapper known as Struggle Jennings was born William Harness on May
31, 1980 in Nashville, Tennessee. The successor to a long lineage of country
royalty, he is the step-grandson of singer-songwriter Waylon Jennings and the
nephew of country artist Shooter Jennings, from whom he adopted his stage name.
Struggle Jennings made his first appearance on Yelawolf’s Wyte Dawg mixtape and
issued his studio debut I Am Struggle in 2013 while being incarcerated on
