A Scot of Hindu descent, Soom T draws on her origins to enrich her musical baggage. Possessing a distinctive, rapid flow, the young woman stands out for a raggamuffin that draws on music from the Indian subcontinent as well as more modern forms such as Asian Underground and drum & bass. The singer appeared in 2012 with the single "We Are the Glasgow Girls", with its ostensibly feminist message.
