Hard rock guitarist Saul Hudson – born in Stoke-on-Trent, England on July 23, 1965 – is better known by his stage name Slash. With his top hat and mass of curly black hair, Slash became the ultimate guitar god of the late 1980s, unleashing blistering solos and thundering riffs as Guns N' Roses went on to become the biggest, wildest band of the era.
