Skeeter Davis was one of country music's best-selling females during the 1960s. Born in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, on December 30, 1931, she recorded her first songs as a member of the Davis Sisters, scoring a Number One hit in 1953 with "I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know."
