A five-piece who went from playing house parties to selling out stadiums, Six60
are one of New Zealand’s biggest modern pop groups, infusing their music with
traditional Māori instrumentation along with dub, reggae, and other elements.
The band met as students at the University of Otago in Dunedin in 2008 and began
cooking up tunes at their student flat on 660 Castle Street, which later
inspired their stage name. After building up a dedicated local fanbase, the
R&B-powered pop-rock quintet made their EP debut in 2009, which included
