School friends Jake Roche (whose parents are actor Shane Richie and singer Coleen Nolan) and Danny Wilkin began writing songs as teenagers. They formed the pop rock band Rixton in Manchester in 2012 with keyboard player Charley Bagnall and drummer Lewi Morgan. Videos on a YouTube channel garnered attention and in 2014 they released an EP titled 'Me and My Broken Heart'.
