Taking inspiration from longtime musical heroes The Rolling Stones, Argentine rock band Los Ratones Paranoicos was formed in the neighborhood of Villa Devoto, Buenos Aires, in 1983. Consisting of singer and guitarist Juanse Gutiérrez, bass player Pablo Memi, lead guitarist Pablo "Sarcófago" Cano, and drummer Rubén "Roy" Quiroga, the band released its first eponymous album in 1986, followed by the more successful Los Chicos Quieren Rock in 1988.
