Philippe Jaroussky
A virtuoso vocalist, French countertenor Philippe Jaroussky (born in
Maisons-Laffitte on February 13, 1978) is also co-founder of the Artaserse
ensemble, which has made Vivaldi and Handel its preferred repertoire. After
Vivaldi Heroes (2006), he pays tribute to castratos through one of their most
illustrious figures, with the disc Carestini, The Story of a Castrato (2007).
