The first German singer to win the Eurovision Song Contest, Nicole was born
Nicole Hohloch in Saarbrücken on October 25, 1964. Discovered by producer Robert
Jung at the Schwäbisch Hall Song Festival in 1980, she launched her singing
career with the theme song for the Japanese series Captain Harlock and signed to
Jupiter Records, for whom she racked up a string of hits, starting with "Flieg
nicht so hoch, mein kleiner Freund", which reached No. 2 in 1981. The following
