Madhushree is an Indian playback singer from Kolkata, West Bengal. Born Sujata Bhattacharya on November 2, 1969, she was introduced to classical Indian music by her parents and later continued her studies with Sangeetacharya Pt. Amiya Ranjan Bandyopadhyay. After moving to Mumbai with the hopes of making it as a singer in the film industry, she was discovered by poet Javed Akhtar and made her debut in Rajesh Roshan's 2001 crime drama, Moksha. In 2003, Madhushree sang three songs by A.R. Rahman on the soundtrack of the Hindi film Tehzeeb and, a year later, received the Sony Stardus...
