Level 42 formed in 1980 with a line-up of Mark King, Phil Gould, Boon Gould and Mike Lindup. Originally a jazz-funk fusion group, they made a name for themselves as a British pop-R&B outfit, scoring success in the charts in the UK during the 1980s. Their first single came with Love Meeting Love, followed by a self-titled debut album in 1981 which reached the top 20 of the album chart in the UK. The band continued to release singles, but failed to break the top 10 until 1984 when they released The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up). Success continued but the group didn't enjoy worldwide...
