Alongside the likes of Slipknot, Korn, and Machine Head, Lamb Of God were part
of the new wave of American heavy metal acts in the late 1990s, turning their
noses up at bluesy solos and, instead, embracing the thrashing aggression of
death metal. Formed by college friends Mark Morton, Chris Adler, and John
Campbell while attending Virginia Commonwealth University, the band originally
