With his roots in funk and the achievements of Giorgio Moroder and Kraftwerk.
Juan Atkins is one of those who created and defined the Detroit hard house
sound, one of the pillars of American techno music. More of a
DJ/arranger/remixer than a composer, his various albums, produced under multiple
pseudonyms, are long sequences of rhythmic loops. This original techno has
remained oriented towards live performance, in contrast to house music, which is
played in clubs.
