Regarded as a Latin pop legend, Jeanette (born Janette Anne Dimech on October 10, 1951) is a British-born Spanish singer whose tear-jerking romantic ballads captivated audiences throughout the world. During the ‘60s, she was a member of folk-pop outfit Pic-Nic, which topped the Spanish charts in 1967 with their hit single “Cállate niña.” Following the dissolution of the group, she released “Soy rebelde” in 1971, her first international hit.
