Combining doomed industrial rhythms with raging metal, Fear Factory created a seething ball of mechanical noise that scorched through the 1990s hard rock scene. Forming in Los Angelos in 1989, and led by Burton C. Bell's growling vocals and Dino Cazares' thrashing guitar riffs, their ferocious live shows landed them a deal with legendary indie label Roadrunner Records, and early albums Soul Of A New Machine (1992) and Demanufacture (1995) helped pave the way for a host of nu-metal bands.
