It was under this acronym that American Erika M. Anderson embarked on her solo
career in 2010, having previously been a member of psychedelic folk band The
Gowns. As EMA, she produces lo-fi, noise-rock-influenced rock in uncompromising
tracks evoking human impulses and revolts. Her debut album, Past Life Martyred
Saints, was released in June 2011. EMA returned to the spotlight in 2014 with
The Future's Void.
