A Canadian singer-songwriter with Cree and Metis heritage, the country and folk stylings of singer/songwriter Don Amero brought him awards, while making sure people are made aware of often under-represented cultures. He put out his debut album, Change Your Life, in 2006, one year before finally abandoning his day job. It would be recognized by the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, picking up multiple nominations. This accomplishment was matched by his 2009 follow-up Deepening.
