Born Wu Jiaxin on May 1, 1980, in Hong Kong, the Cantopop singer, songwriter,
and actress is better known by her stage name Charmaine Fong. Her entertainment
career began in 1999 when she auditioned to be a VJ for Hong Kong Cable TV. She
met music producer Zeng Songqin and then began to pursue a music career instead.
Her first album was the Mandarin-language album Do You Know (2002), which she
also recorded in Cantonese. Her sophomore album, Dream Catcher (2003), was also
recorded in Mandarin and Cantonese, but a label merger meant that she lost her
