Broery Marantika

Broery Marantika is the stage name of Simon Dominggus Pesulima, an Indonesian pop singer and actor. Born on June 25, 1948, in the city of Ambon, he first rose to prominence after winning a local singing contest organized by Radio Republik Indonesia when he was just 20 years old. This victory singlehandedly launched his artistic career as he relocated to Jakarta and cut his first couple of records between 1968 and 1969.
