In the mid-1990s, the boy band phenomenon from the USA and England hit France
with full force. Each record company set out to create its own male group.
Alliage was chosen to embody this mix, with singer-dancers of different origins
(including a Corsican, a Spaniard, an Algerian and an Englishman) and songs
mixing French with English or Spanish. Formed in 1996, the group enjoyed success
in 1997 with "Baïla" and "Te garder près de moi", featuring Boyzone, which
