Ahmed Fakroun was born in 1953 in Benghazi, Libya. Fascinated by music from an
early age, he began his apprenticeship on the bass, gradually discovering other
instruments such as the harmonica, guitar and piano, as well as traditional
string instruments such as the oud, mandola and saz. He remained attentive to
various musical currents, both Western and rooted in African music, and absorbed
a rich variety of influences that soon led him to define his own style. Moving
