Aaron Tippin is an American singer-songwriter from Florida who is famed for his debut single 'You've Got to Stand for Something' which became an anthem for soldiers fighting in the Gulf War upon its release in October 1990. Signing to RCA Records in 1990, he had already provided songs to the likes of The Kingsmen, Mark Collie and Charley Pride, but was spotted for his hillbilly style which was desirable and popular at the time.
